Video storytelling, anticipating breaking action, capturing emotion and understanding the human psyche are expert tools of my craft. Christine Kaaloa has shot, directed and interviewed anyone from go-go dancers, beauty queens, teens, celebrities and athletes.
Since 2003 and living between New York, Los Angeles and Hawaii, Christine is a veteran camera operator and field producer with experience in video production, producing reality television shows, news, online shows, corporate events and live shows. She was a Shooter-Producer on MTV reality television shows like My Super Sweet Sixteen, Engaged and Underage and True Life. In New York, MTV shows often required a one or two-man field crew to produce an entire episode from casting shoot to completion .
Relocated to her native home of Hawaii in 2012 , Christine is one of two female camera operators in Hawaii’s event industry. Christine films live events and video production in Hawaii, while gaining global reach through YouTube and social media marketing with her own travel brand, GRRRLTRAVELER , where she takes audiences inside the female solo adventures of food, culture and travel.
Her channel has been viewed in 72 countries, has a global following and brings in local co-hosts as experts. The weekly travel show has also had a positive impact on reluctant travelers and has launched hundreds of successful first time solo travel careers. She works on international campaign with brands, tourism boards and hospitality services, who want to amplify their messages to attract global audiences.
Christine has lived in Hawaii, Los Angeles, New York , St. Louis and South Korea and everywhere she travels is a home-away-from-home. She holds a master’s degree from the School of Visual Arts and fine arts degree at University of Southern California. When she’s not traveling she cares for her cute diabetic furbaby , Tinker.
