SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD YouTube Campaign
SanDisk Europe released the ultra compact SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD. Concept: A female solo travel video creator’s job of gathering video, photographic and social media content is fast paced and ever-changing against the rigors of the environment. Christine literally “does not have much time in a place”. Unlike television and commercial shoots where there is a crew, location scouting, a well-laid itinerary where you have an hour to set up a cinematic shot, solo travel vlogging requires run-and-gun work and being able to think on your feet, sculpting a story as it unfolds. If you ever see Christine walking, talking to the camera and eating it is because she is filming as she moves to the next destination. So we need external storage solutions that can challenge our need for durability, speed and light-weight-space solutions.
We tested and filmed the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD in two countries of polar extremes – Nepal and Tokyo. We aligned it with ideas of rugged endurance, speed, durability, compact/lightweight solutions and navigating the ever-changing demands of solo filming on the road.
On Instagram Stories, we had fun challenging the SSD’s claims of water, dust and shock proofing in rural Nepal while trekking. We submerged it in a river stream, did a potato test with the farming community to test its dust capability.
To amplify our audience demographics from travelers to travel content creators, we had our blog article shared (pinned, tweeted, flipped) by our travel blogging community where content creators are continually looking for light-weight, durable and reliable editing systems to store content on the road.
